Felipe Anderson and his transfer to Lazio

A silky Brazilian who joined for a club record fee back of £34 million, back in 2018 it’s fair to say that Felipe Anderson’s time at West Ham has been disappointing.

Despite a promising start halfway through his first season in England with 8 goals in 19 games. The second half saw just the one goal along with a frustrating second season in which gradually saw his place frozen out under new manager David Moyes.

To make it more ironic for East Londoners, they sold him back to the very same club they paid all the money for in Lazio.

After spending the whole of last season on loan at FC Porto, Anderson is now back at Lazio. So far for the Biancocelesti he has scored 3 goals in the league along with a goal in the Europa League.

This includes, a winning goal in a 3-2 win in the Rome derby against there bitter rivals AS ROMA also getting an assist in the same game.

Currently as of the 23rd November, Lazio sit 6th in the table with them only being 4 points of the Champions league places. Suffering with patchy form occasionally under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

However West Ham don’t seem to be missing the Brazilian winger, going through an amazing start to the season currently fourth in the premier league just 3 points behind Manchester City.

For both sides, it’s clear to see that whereas their time together was promising yet disappointing since leaving both seem to be back on the right track.
